Tabcorp Park Harness Racing Track, Melton, Melbourne

Tabcorp Park was opened in July 2009 as Victoria’s premier harness racing centre with grandstand, entertainment and accommodation facilities.

The 1040 metre track is designed for night racing and is lit with 282 x 2kW Active Reactor metal halide luminaires. Harness Racing Victoria wanted the Active Reactors to deliver the design level of light during races but the ability to dim between the races. This is achieved through network control of the Active Reactors and to date energy savings of 34% have been achieved by the Active Reactors in both design mode and dim mode.

Harness Racing Victoria has now requested that their existing lighting facilities at the Bendigo, Swan Hill, and Mildura tracks be retrofitted with Active Reactors.
